Hi all,

It's been a while since I've been out for a fish, but I have relocated to wa from nsw. I'm heading to Bali for a few days over Easter and would like to get some fishing in.

I'd like to smash up some Spaniards or similar, preferably on poppers or other cast lures.

Can someone recommend an operator. I'll be staying in Sanur.

Thanks,

JtK

He goes ok over here but the trouble is he kills every fish they catch even big GT's.

What is the "trouble" with that?
If you are "over there" how a about a suggestion for johnny_the_knife involving a charter with ethics.

I have sent him a recommendation. The trouble is with the GT's they get a fair hammering from the spearos from below on the slack tides and some operators kill them from above for a couple of bucks a kilo.. They are worth a lot more to them alive.

I can imagine it would be difficult to convince the locals sustainable fishing is the way to go to best ensure their own future in the fishing industry. Not sure why you would eat GT's, ordinary on the chew that is for sure! Great fun to catch but that is about it!

JohnBob can you share your recomendation with the rest of us?
It would be nice if other Australian tourists with a conscience knew of alternative fishing options in Bali.

Sure Iam happy to

Adhek is a long established tackle guru and operator who is C and R only, an absolute pioneer in Bali sportfishing.

http://www.adhek.net/

The other is a friend of mine and business partner in lure manufacture but he himself runs a successful guiding business. Again strong emphasis on C and R of GT's.

hope that helps - hopefull the wind and rain stops here and we can get stuck into them!

Cheers
