that weld looks like it has let go due to lack of penetration

My guess it's cracked because weld has been ground down add to that they've tried welding die cast not a good combination esp if used to what i think is a boarding ladder [hard to tell from pic]

Start putting weigth on ladder & it's only a matter of time

although its not the same type of bog that you would use on an old HQ Golden..

Tis same shite just different smell but you cant cake it on like they have good guess they've used a soft filler which is easier to sand

Quote:
where the paint has come off under the chine , looks to be bare Ally ....no primer or etch..

They would've etch'd it just vey poor prep

Any idiot can use a spray gun that's the easy part all the work goes into preping take shortcuts & that's what you end up with

could have fooled me JayyGee..the stuf i saw being used was an epoxy 2 part system with a glass chop in it. cool-fish.gif...he had wiped down the surface with some type of etch chemical before applying the bog mix
it set like steel & was an absolute biach to grind.. the painter was using this to fillet radius the corners & using a spiralband to grind it back to a very nice radius...was definatly NOT polyester auto bog. happy-fish.gif

the whole boat was then etched & then faired..folllowed by prime hi-fill & then top coat..sanding & more sanding & a little bit of sanding to boot... time consuming wipe downs between coats..

boat still looks a treat today with no shrinkage or cracks of filled areas & NO peeling of the topcoat. cool-fish.gif

but your right ...any monkey can pick up a spraygun laughing-fish.gif but aluminum would have to be one of the worst to paint when it comes to getting correct adheasion..

one could however save all this time & trouble a buyz em selfs a FIBERGLASS boat.. laughing-fish.gif MADE IN OZZY LAND... cool-fish.gif

like an EDENCRAFT...for example.. laughing-fish.gif

Well it is a bit crook, see plenty of poor work done here locally too so the Chinese don't have the monopoly on it. Just been given a batch of locally made boat trailer winch posts this week with shite welding to grind back and reweld. Had all been galvanised, sold to customers and snapping off the base plate in service, not good Aussie made at all!
Anyway I hope that Noble do get it sorted out for. Things can go wrong and not necessarily always the fault of the builder or worker but regardless who or what is at fault you need to maintain good relations with the manufacturer and try and get a good outcome.
All the best with it.

Trailcraft OTOH were promoting the calibre of their new Chinese owners. Their main business is stuff like aerospace so quality of manufacture is supposed to be top notch. China is still a two speed economy with lots of a-rate quality manufacturers, but just as many struggling to catch up.

It's a disgrace, just goes to show how much companies are really getting for their cheap labour in places like China, you are paying almost as much for crude un professional work. I would have thought you could actually make the product better or at least on par with the quality you had locally for a reduced cost??? Proves they just want to flog you cheap junk to make more for themselves regardless of the customers satisfaction or the reputation of their brand. Lets face it the Chinese historically don't build things very well, I know some will disagree but this is just one example of a lot. Noble need to take a good hard look at themselves and the product.

Used the stuff from memory think it's part of International's 5 stage process hardener is called micro [something]

2B honest nothing special about the stuff dfinately not warranted by the cost if i wanted to use top of the range stuff on alloy then the devcon product is the go but super expensive & a bitch to sand

General car bog as you call it is used on outer surfaces of aircraft such as the 747's it has to deal with extreme below zero temps + heat shrinkage/ expantion vibration etc etc

A product is only as good as the person using it
