Just spent 5 days at bermi. 4 full days of perfectly flat sunny conditions, dont think we could have been more lucky with the weather. Plenty of rats around the island with the occasional good fish thrown in. Was my first bermi trip so very very happy with the place.
We were loosing lots of live baits to stripies so switched to light gear and had some awesome fun on them. Caught my first king on a jig, and also caught one on flathead gear which was a challenge!
Did one drift for a mako near the island and in 5 hours caught one baby mako to 10kg, two hammerheads to 40-60kg and two bronzies one being 30kg the other being 90kg. (All sharks were released happily to the water).
Still cant believe the awesome flathead fishery they have up there. Average sized flathead were 48-50cms and chunky! They were even taking our live baits whilst drifting for kingies.
Came home with just the two kings, and released around 30 (mostly rats).
I want to go back already and have a crack in my 4 metre tinny on a nice day and troll livies and throw poppers/stickbaits into the rocky headland right near the bermi entrance. It must hold kings at some stage of the year.
Highlight of the trip was seeing my first flying fish, catching my first cobia, and seeing a big mako (100+kg) clear the water twice right on sunset only 100 metres from the boat. I didnt even realise cobia came this far south, (although I did hear rumours of one caught in WP bay last year)

Will return there soon enough to see what else bermi has to offer.

Cheers
Tim

What a great report. We fished there Sunday and had a top day.

If you have some pics of the sharks, they would be good to see, especially with the back drop of the magnificent conditions.
Cheers

Most footage was taken on a video camera with some stuff on the iphone.
Will post some iphone photos later and video photos in a few days.
Some cracker footage of the hammers next to the boat.
Cheers
