Koorilad I dont think you'll have much trouble convincing most of us that there are some terrible and negligent parents out there who are often the sole reason that kids turn out as badly as they do.
But if you're going to punish them - where do you stop, and for what purpose? If I, at the age of 42 go out and murder someone, do you put my 75 year old parents in jail with me. You know, I'm just the same person now as I was at 15 - law abiding, showing respect to others and doing the right thing. And if I was a murderer at 15, jailing my parents was probably not going to change me.
Really, punishing the people that made these kids is not the answer, surely doing whatever is required to stop them re-offending is the issue, whether its punishment, counselling, support or combination. Punishing others that made them that way is pure retribution, but will not stop the offender committing further crimes. _________________

A couple weeks ago a cop car was chasing some f wits in a stolen car when the cops ran a red light and collided with an innocent vehicle. A lady and her 16 yo daughter had been out for lunch as it was the girls birthday. The mother died and the girl has serious injuries. The cops should have shot the mongrels in the stolen car when they had a chance. If you run from the cops, you must be guilty. SHOOT THEM, to protect the rest of us.
Lets face it, a couple dead criminals is better than killing innocent people.
Did any of you see the news footage a few weeks ago of those Aboriginal kids laughing as the cops dragged them from the stolen BMW. They had broken into a home, stolen 2 BMW's from the garage, did a few hold-ups then engaged the cops in a chase through the suburbs. Every time the cops got close, the BMW crossed to the wrong side of the road because they know the cops have to dis-engage when they do that.
One of the mothers was outside the courthouse the next day screaming at cameramen to leave her little darlings alone. Quote " They're good boys, they're not men, they're GOOD BOYS."
Kev's got a good point, but all the ideas coming from university graduates AREN'T WORKING. A well placed bullet will guarantee they don't re-offend.
Two kids I work with, 13 year old girls, stole one of program cars and drove around town before they bingled it last night! They were remanded and released this morning at about 11am.
(Sorry I forgot to add they are white kids, I dont think its really relevant, but it must be as race is mentioned in the other posts )
They also laughed at the cops. They stole 150 bucks off us as well. We got 50 back later in the day from the cops. One of them asked for the $50 saying that the 50 dollars returned to us wasnt part of the 150 they stole, it was 50 that her mum gave her. Colour is of no relevance, there's more little white sh*ts doing it than blacks
Laws way of life, tv shows are all to blame
Worse of all is pier pressure
Prob grew up in a good era where being involved in sports kept te bulk of kids off the streets.
These days it's all about computors showing your face on you tube bragging about stupidity that kids get up to
Last year i was @ a mates workshop he wasn't there his dad was & mates cousin who had his own buisness which had employed a little sh*t
Alot of tools etc going missing & as a boss in small buisness one is alert as to goings on & cousin sacke the little sh*t
Well i was fitting up some things to mates boat when i heard yelling out front, little sh*t had recognised cousins ute in driveway & was playing hero in front of his mate
Mates dad was trying to get kid to go away & this sh*t started abusing a 70 yo te cousn had allready called police & this sh*te was still trying to battle the 70 yo.
Well i lost it jumped out of boat proceeded to where commotion was going on confronted the sh*t
He proceeded to give me cheek bear in mind I AM NOT THE VIOLENT TYPE short temered BUT NOT VIOLENT no need to be i generally get my way or have the sense to back off if confrontation is looming.
Anyways i ended up grabbing this little sh*te around the neck his mate saw this & started running to the end of street.
Thought i'd done enough to give the sh*t the message when he opens his mouth once more this time i totally lost it.
Little plic threatened he would go home get his gun & come after me
Sh*t had about a 20 meter start i ran him down didn't punch him but a few good slaps to the head got thrown @ him & you could see the fear in the sh*ts eyes
Put it this way he never showed his face around there again _________________ **************************
