A friend spotted this boat and was hoping that someone on here could assist to identify it.

All he could tell me was that it had a length of approx 26-27 feet and has a full walk around deck. Aside from the dive door, everything appears to be pretty original.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

PS: There seems to be a deck mould of some sort in the back ground. It's only the boat in the foreground he is interested in.

Its amazing what you can find out the back of the average chicken shed. I have no idea what it is but it sort of looks good.

Has a resemblance to a Haines 773, but that looks like a relief line up near the gunnel and they didn't have that. The bottom looks very 773-ish though.

Deepsix, certainly not a 773 although from afar, there is a resemblence.

Having said that, strakes are different, the 773 didn't have a relief line and they were not available in walk around configuration. The 773 was also pretty unique in that it had a planing plank, and as far as I know this does not.

As I write this a few more pics have arrived and I'll post them shortly. Have to upload them to photobucket first. wink-fish.gif

Strakes do look like a 773 from what I see, but if there is no plank it is certainly not one. Stem rake and chine does seem to closely mimic the 773.

Quite low at the bow for 26ish feet.

Interesting.

Thanks for clearing it up, Jaygee. I am told people scan Google Earth looking for abandoned boats in out of the way places that they can offer to relieve the owners of, maybe you can identify the make from a satellite photo.
