In this addition of Charlie Micallef Marine Media we go to the Fort on the Mornington Peninsula, give some new wetsuits a go from oceanic, with water temperature around 19° and crystal clear water we had an enjoyable morning filming some fish that live around the waters of the Fort.

Looking ahead... Easter special Trevally, Flathead, Squid, Snapper, and King George Whiting
we have had ideal conditions over the last few days down here on the Mornington Peninsula. Hopefully the conditions will still be as good over the Easter break at this stage it is hit and miss, with Saturday at this stage not looking too good ,however things can change. Snapper, King George whiting, squid, and Trevally are still in good numbers and they are what I would be targeting over the Easter break
Good Friday
Get your fishing in early before the wind comes up, north easterly winds of 10 kn to start the day off.. 7:30 a.m. flood tide give rosebud reef ago for all the species mentioned above
Saturday
8:30 a.m. flathead and squid these two species can now be caught further out on the peninsula on the broken ground
flood tide Flathead and squid are broken ground between the fault and Portsea is usually quite well for the species between 3 and 4 m of water is where you will find them
Sunday with northwesterly winds of 10 kn
3 p.m. sisters at Sorrento is fishing well for garfish and King George whiting ,fishing from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. the last two hours of the flood tide, use a cocktail bait of squid and pilchards there are some very big King George whiting in this area are at the moment
Monday southwesterly winds
try fishing wind with tide between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. this is a high level tide which means the big flathead will move into the shallow ground, get a small Birley Trail happening and use pilchards as your bait , fish around 3 m of water the flathead will come up your Birley Trail and find your pilchards.
Have a fantastic Easter break
King George whiting are a fantastic species to target over the Easter break

Had a good day had by all yesterday on my HH 650 Classic, we picked up 10 Tuna and bagged out by midday. My crew of Daniel Curmi, Jack Olver, Charelle Ainslie and John "Oysters" Kilpatrick worked well together as we very lucky enough to find our self's on 4 and 5 way hook ups.
We fished the horse shoe area , 141 22 to 141 19. Mostly the 400-500m area.
The lures that worked well were xraps, killer vibes and romper stompers from the blue dog lure range.
We managed to win the Portland International Tuna Comp with an 18kg SBT. Not that big but a lot of the schools were pretty small this weekend.
Still, we picked up $3000 for 1st so were not complaining.
The Portland Sport & Game fishing Club did a great job again putting the competition together.
Cheers.
Greenie.

How good is Victoria, Flathead, King George Whiting, Sharks, Tuna in Portland, and now to come back and Fish for some fantastic Snapper, these fish should be around for the next few weeks until we have our first real cold snap in may, crowds have gone and the businesses still have sales on from accommodation to food the Mornington Peninsula has it all.
