Welcome Fish-netters happy-fish.gif

Several years ago myself and other Fish-netters ran a competition that was quite enjoyable and included winning prizes. This competition however, has only one winning categorie. The winner will recieve a $50 Compleat Angler Gift Voucher.

As there was some issues with the past competition could the Mods let me know please, if this competition needs to be changed in any way wink-fish.gif

This competition is open to all ages and sexes and also to all methods of fishing, saltwater or freshwater.Resident of Australia from all states can only enter.

There are set rules for this competition as follows.
This Competition is purely for fun, a laugh however in the end we will all see just how good we all are at Angling, in particular using only the allowed rod and reel.
You must purchase a cheap Childrens fishing rod with reel or a Combo from a K-mart store or an equivalent store, depending on the state of Australia you reside in.The below rod and reel I purchased from K-mart in Boronia for $5.You can not purchase then use a rod and reel or Combo over the value of $10.

There is only one modification that you can do with your purchased rod and reel and that is to change the line that is on the purchased spool, of the reel.Any line, type, is allowed to be applyed to the spool. As you can see the manufacture's guidelines dont give much give for this particular reel.

However I applied Maxima's Chameleon 6LB 2.7 KG .009 inch and it sat on the spool no worries and yes, I have been fishing with it since and had no dramas at all.Heres my latest catch from the Frankston Pier this week.

The rod and reel handled well with care of course and I was able to cast a good distance and being short, at times I was able to hide it behind me to avoid complete embarresment.
I also like that the reel comes with no Line Roller, for I often worry when fishing wether or not I have applied the correct amount of lubrication and brand. In this day and age no one needs to worry when fishing, good on you k-mart wink-fish.gif

Here are a few more photos showing the quality features that this rod and reel have laughing-fish.gif

Heres a Video, showing the reel working. Please turn down your volume as its loud, it sounds like a tractor coming and could wake up infants, sleeping. As the video shows I advise you to open the bail arm and close it manually.

The other Rules for this Competition are you must only photograph one fish at a time with your purchased rod and reel. You are only allowed to submit 3 photos for the whole of this competition. There must also be a newspaper in the photo that has been printed on the same day you caught your fish using your purchased rod and reel.

A ruler needs to be along-side your fish as well in the photo. The photo must be submitted in this Topic.

The goal to win the $50 Compleat Angler Gift Voucher is, to catch the longest fish of any species using your purchased children's rod and reel or Combo.

The competition will start next Thursday 31.5.2012 and finish on the 13.6.2012.Any changes, modificatons that you think this competition needs can be posted here.

Good luck all staying hooked, controling and landing your fish laughing-fish.gif laughing-fish.gif
