Just bought 2 Tiagra 50wlrs. Was told by the shop that shimano gear will be going up at least 10 percent after this week, so bought 2 units instead of one. Buying one new reel each month.

Anyway, on the list to get over coming months are, 2 Tiagra 80w, a Stella 5000sw, Stella 10000sw and a couple of sustains 2500 or 4000.

Next boat show will be looking at purchasing a sounder and chart plotter for the new boat.

Lucky I've got redraw on the loan....... Lucky the wife doesn't know the true cost of my gear....... Lucky she thinks it's my old gear............ Lucky she doesn't know about this forum

I'm the opposite. I just tell her before I buy anything. If she baulks I remind her of how much she spends at the hairdresser, beauty salon, on "beauty products", on shoes and on clothes. Shuts her up pretty damn quick.

Last four rod and reel combos all cost more than $750 and I never got so much as a peep out of her. It is also an advantage to be of an age where a bottle of beer holds more appeal than a roll in the hay.

Cheers

Wife knows all my spending.

I did promise her though that I'd stop buying stuff. In the last 12 months I've even out did myself.

Bought my bike, Ducati 1198sp then spec'd it out. Bought my dream car, Ferrari 430, I promised her i would start paying down the mortgage.

Since that promise I've bought a boat.......

Crap... I have problem.... And to think I hit the roof when she buys a new handbag or shoes.......

The only thing I'm worried about is that she may want to come out fishing with me.... Crap

I imported a Stella 6000 from Japan and put it on a 7 foot 3-6 kg t-curve.

Loaded with 20 lb braid it sings when a sbt hits it
