I feel compelled to post something here.
I only joined fishnet this year so I could keep tabs on what's happening on the coast but it appears all that happens is a whole lot of bitching. Seriously read back through some of your comments its laughable and I liken it to watching an bunch of teenage girls squawbling over who's the most stylish.
In my short time reading fishnet posts I can see that there are some dominant players who like to question peoples credentials and drag the conversation down, my recommendation to others is ignore it and don't give them the satisfaction of taking the bait (pardon the pun).
Its a real shame, every day I get on my computer hoping to see where the action is happening so I can jump in my car come the weekend and join in the action.
Honestly people remember what this website is about and think before you make comments. If its not constructive, stay out of it!
Anthony. Over the 12-13 years or so that I have been using computers on web sites there have been dozens and dozens of guys like Jay who always want to be the life of the party, and get the blame for other people not having the balls to keep trying, just recently in the last couple of years attention has turned to guys like The weopon Jayyygee and just at the moment Kerry is copping a lashing and is now the BLAME why members are turning away from the site.
It's always been the same. Anyone who has an opinion that veries a little from the general run of things and the current trend, get blamed for guys that should develop some grit between the legs running away from reality, or in this case the cyber life or whatever the modern term for it is.
Sure do hope to catch up with you one of these days, always good to see and talk with good people.
Having a different opinion is fine - that's what makes the world go round, but the way some blokes present their's is nothing sort of disgusting.
The SBT threads from last year were brilliant - a heap of fnetters joined in and helped eachother - look at what happened this year - it was a bloody joke and unfortuately, many other threads have gone down the same, well worn path - not only in this forum, but on others as well - FishOz is virtually dead because even a bloke trying to do the right thing by reccos gets lampooned.
I don't know what the answer is, or how the hell we can get Fishnet back to where it was - at the moment, it's just sad.

What a sad state of a fishing site.
What about kid's or lady's wanting a look in?
Your really limiting the types of people who would be willing to contribute to this site. What a load of macho crap!

Marty
Marty, the SBT reports are thin cause we didn't have a better season than the last in relation to barrels or school fish as a lot tried this year and failed hence slow reports and fish weren't in close in numbers like last year literally just outside the harbour. That's my opinion.
think you will find that the main player in the sbt threads and author of one of the most popular threads ever. got so fed up with the grief he got from various ****heads that he decided he didnt need it and left.sad state of affairs/ tight linrs to all.
Marty's right, it's not the fact that someone has a different opinion - it's the way they present that opinion. SHOUTING, personal attacks and voicing opinion as if they are facts are all symptomatic of a bogan trying to prosecute their case when they've run out of logic.
It's not that I don't "have the balls" to engage in the discussion. Remember the old saying "Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience". Frankly, I don't care if the 2 or 3 opinionated individuals hold their contrary views forever - only fools will listen. The rest of us follow the logic - and vote with our clicks. _________________ <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w250/St_Ivan/CIMG0542.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
Also, it's not just the fault of the 2 or 3 individuals. The mods could shut the c**p down a lot earlier if they wanted to. Fishnet admin is clearly comfortable with the rants and the trend away from the site.
So as you do with your fishing, move on when it's right for you - don't stay there complaining that it's no good. _________________ <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i178.photobucket.com/albums/w250/St_Ivan/CIMG0542.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

I glad you understood reading reports in chinese, i didn't make too much sense of his posts reading same sentence 2-3 times to understand. He needs a PR officer
It is a shame that these forums have denigrated to their current state. I think that having varied opinions is a great thing and should be used to better our knowledge and experience.
The ridiculous situation that arises on here (and in my opinion is let to run by the moderators) is the vile personal attacks on peoples manhood, techniques, knowledge and skill level. I am not sure when I first started reading Fishnet forums, but it has been a fair while, but one of the very early pieces of advice I was given was to not type anything unless I would be prepared to stand up and say it to that persons' face (by this measure, I think there would be Claret freely flowing from some members!!).
Interestingly too, I am amazed by the lack of action by the website owners, moderators (who ever it might concern) that there is not a quite word in the inbox of members who are regularly involved in a fracas. Seeing productive members leave a forum is like seeing customers walk out your door. If you can't provide a 'bitch free' environment for the gamefishing community to discuss topics and reports, like was stated before, they will choose with their clicks!! So many people are complaining, surely this will not go unnoticed by the moderators/owners etc. This site was used by many to ask very basic questions on gamefishing technique and set up etc. I think a lot of those same people would be afraid to post here now because of the toxic environment.
I personally think JG has plenty to offer, when calmly and articulately typed. Some of his reports have been entertaining and informative.
I have to agree with the feelings of many (and it seems the majority) that the place has changed for the worse.
