When trailerboat did a review on my boat , it was also fully unpaid and unbiased too unless you count the 2 gummies I put one of the reviewers onto after the test. Dont think I feed bear any chicken either

I really dont see what the big deal is all about....as long as the Mag is upfront in saying the boats tested are limited to the ones they have reviewed throughout the last 12 months (which by this thread they have been very forthcoming) then what is the issue?? No doubt advertising regulations and the ACCC prohibit them from saying it was an open test across all makes so as long as they dont say anything like this (which it seems they are not) then why complain?? Most things these days (and not at all aiming this at any publication in particular) but you must read between the lines the information they provide is a good starting place.
Peter the boat reviews such as the one done on your boat, and most recently opti's, are a different matter to what Is being discussed here regarding a contest that is referred to Australia's Greatest TrailerBoat.
so, how did that happen?
I'm just interested because any time a boat flips over when skippered by such experienced boat handlers i want to know the details.
Maybe no-one made a fuss about it because it wasnt a cat?
The only boat review mag I ever found interesting to read is now no longer on the stands, I guess being brutally honest has a price.
Trailerboat magazine may do honest reviews, but I can sum up the flavour in one word....bland.
I was personally involved in Australia's Greatest Boats 2011. My own vessel was entered on behalf of the manufacturer. I sat in the left hand seat for each individual test of my boat and watched the proceedings and organisation first hand.
In all honesty, these guys are testing a range of boats, suited to different environments and purpose over a 2 day period. They have to make sure they meet the demands of the owners, the photographers, videographers, helicopter pilots, insurance companies, Water Police, camera boats, Dept of Sustainability and very, very demanding and emotional vessel manufacturers.........i'm exhausted just reliving it from last year. If anybody else thinks they have the knowledge and organisational skills to pull off such an event - rasie your hand.
I think the guys (and girls) at ACP Magazines do an awesome job at putting together such an event that actually helps promote something we all love to do - boating !!
