Jesus christ that was hard fishing on the weekend. The old man and i fished hard all weekend mostly with hard bodies. I nailed a carp on the friday at 2.24kg on a stumjumper and that was the only fish we got on lures all weekend. A couple of carp, small silvers and yellow guts on worms but just quiet all around.
Found a bay with 12 degree water which i thought may have held fish but it wasnt to be. In hindsight i wish we'd have headed more towards the wall than up the abercrombie. Oh well maybe next year.
Any of you blokes do any good? |

i fished two weeks ago on lures ,cod were down 9=11 metres fished quart pot , the water warmer there 13"C at two when the fish came on the bite , fluro red black spinner baits with moon worms got me yellas and three cod.. got hooked in the bushes a lot. you had to hold the rod to feel the bite, trolling speed 1.5 to two km/p/h
head gasket blew ,so i'm off the road for a while

I spoke with a guy today that went up Thursday for a pre fish. His tarp went flying off to Bathurst, his tent got ripped to shreds and he came back Friday. I still recall when I lived in Cowra. Trout, cod, yellas and catfish. Great fishery in the 90's haven't been back since so can't comment of late. We used to catch some great trout. Best I heard caught in my time was a 9lb brown at the kiosk. My best trout was 6lb, best yella was 7lb on a freezing cold wet day in July, go figure. Find the right spot and you could also catch heaps of catties. _________________ Regards
