hey guys looking at getting a 3000 ish size real for mulloway, in the glenelg at nelson, and soft plastic around portland mainly snapper out of the boat etc. was thinking of gettgin a stella, however i dont want to go to big with the reel so the Stella SW are too big only down to 5000, and was wondering how people have found the Fe's Im a bit concerned about the Mg frame and using it in salt water, although the 2012 catalouge has the best saltwater reel at icast on it.......
If anyone could let me know that would be great... it will be used probably 3/4 in the estuary at nelson and the other 1/4 in actual salt water....
dont want to spend the money on a reel like this to watch the Mg disolve away in front of me
cheers guys

I have a 2500 fe which i use spinning in the surf. Pretty hardy reels, but i make sure i spray it with fresh water after use and spray it with innox evry 2nd outing. have had it for 1 yr now and no problems. I also have a saltiga 3500 which i also use for spinning. It's a bit more expensive than the stella but you wont hurt it at all.

I have a 4000 that I've been using on my boat for snapper for 2 years. I just rinse it with saltaway after each trip & the occasional spray with inox & it has never given me any trouble. Man does it sing when something descent hits!!!

You can actually buy a 4000 size SW reel but have to buy from overseas to t it. They make one but it's not stocked is Australia.
