Hi Guys.
I recently started taking up tying my own flies. I bought a cheap vice years ago just so that I can make my own glo-bugs. But now have started tying simple flies such as red tags and wooly buggers.
Since starting I have been trying new things and developing different patterns or creating my own creations which some have succesfully landed fish.
There are alot of books out there on fly tying, but could someone please direct me to a book or website that they use and have found very helpful. _________________ Time spent fishing cannot be deducted from a persons life. |

Cheers Guys. Thanks for the heads up. Started tying nymphs and red tags over the weekend, and think I've got it down pat.
A Glo-bug is a egg imitation that is used for spawing salmonids. But they go alright on fish in dams that are fed on pellets. A muppet is like a glo bug bug with lead eyes and both trout and Redfin like them.
I am really liking tying my own flies. and have started experimenting in mudeye and shrimp patterns, and have found them quite easy.
I havn't done alot of salt water fly fishing, so I havn't really started tying salt water flies yet. _________________ Time spent fishing cannot be deducted from a persons life. |

Thanks Mithras
Two weeks ago (damn weather) some fish was attacking one of my flies that had a gold metal thread I had tied into it .So i have made up a gold experimental fly if that works I'll post a pic of fly and fish.
And from looking at the different fly patterns I tie very easy flies
But as my lovely wife says they are catching fish . |

Without doubt the most useful site on the web for tying is flyanglersonline.com I have visited almost all tying sites at one time or another but nothing comes close to being as comprehensive as FAOL
