As everyone knows the tuna are going off at portland. But this seasons things are a bit different. They have been seen busting up on the surface frequently. Its only a matter of time before some records are too be made with fish pushing 130 kg reported. Unfortunately my boat isn't big enough to risk it.
Check out Bob McPhersons fishing report if you don't believe me and go get yer arms stretched.
p.s im available if anyone needs a deckie! happy-fish.gif

That fish was trolled on fly and doesn't really count as a fish on 'fly' in most peoples book but it sure did look like fun! happy-fish.gif

Find out were the fish are, find some bait on the sounder, start a cube trail start throwing flys though the trail and hold on.

Had several refusals over the years down there, often the school will rise as fish are being boated, Ive had 30kg fish turn inches from my squid pattern,.. after cleaning the hooked fish(conventional) was full of red bait grrrr.

they would be a very real chance over the last week the fish have been busting up on the surface and staying up (as long as you dont get to close)got close enough last trip to throw a plastic in to them and it got smash.wish i had the fly rod. john they have been feeding on white bait the last couple of days try tossing them something like this they shoud hit it on the drop.
