Recently I've taken up collecting some old original Australian timber lures such as Deceptions(pre tacspo) Peter Newell and old timber RMG lures etc. I just though I'd start this thread to see if anyone else share a similar interest in Australian timber lures and if anyone would like to sell some old lures they have sitting in the bottom of tackle boxes in storage form yesteryear I'd be interested.

Hi Parafisherman, you have jumped into an expensive hobbie there. I have (all these lures are wooden) 150mmprototype Australian Crafted Invaders $250-$300. Deception Scampi's $250. Whitemore Shrimps $50. 150 & 200mm Codseeker lures $60 & $120. Sounds dear but thats the price people are paying.
Cheers
Jamie

Thanks for the response's, there is some really good looking pieces of Australians angling history there. It's good that people are preserving these unique timber creations. I'm only 19 so I'm sure I can build my collection slowly but I'm aware I have a lot of catching up on. The top of my wanted list is a original Scorpion for sentimental reasons. I'm also collecting some of the cool retro lures coming out of Japan atm. Has anyone seen any of those?

If they were original Paul Knellor Deceptions it would be worth buying them all. I would expect them to be Tapsco with the bib marked with Deception and a map of Oz on it but if not feel free to PM me the shop details and I will be giving them a call wink-fish.gif
