In hindsight Peter, it may have been better to get this thread pulled early. As a sponsor, I am pretty sure you could still do that.

You really do polarise people, and no matter what evidence is posted about what was and was'nt done to Mario, people have already made their own opinions. Stuff like this won't get you more fans, it will simply incite the people who don't like you even more. The "jungle telegraph" is already talking about this, and I wouldnt be suprised if you get a very frosty reception from the locals next year. You know how parochial fishos can be, especially when they come to the defence of one of their own.

Sometimes its best to let sleeping dogs lie. Truly

p.s. I am pretty sure Marios having a Rum on the reef chuckling about this.

Jay, it never happened.

Lots of lures left boats unrigged, and were returned rigged. Lots and lots of them. Sure I studided them. Did I flop them, sorry Jay, impossible, the molding method I used involved using Plastisol to make molds which is a heat melt material.

If you say so, i'm not going to pursue it else i'll have busted ranting on about those Jet Li movies he's so fond of.
Think his favourite wad Romeo Must Die laughing-fish.gif

I do however find it odd that now you're mentioning the use of Plastisol as mould material when earlier you gave attributes to

I didn't set out to stir you up but when i read some of the stuff in this & other thread well i couldn't help mysef.

If something dosen't sound logical then i'll Q it & i'm sticking to my original comment present day day lure heads are copies maybe not exact replica's but copies none the less.

You would've had to have been around 40 odd years back to have come close to comming up with an original

Wayne, I'm not a sponsor of this site, never paid for advertising anywhere since I bought the business back.

I've sponsored a few tournies and prizes, but no advertsing in any media, web or printed.

I have provided artwork for those who wanted to use it.

Advertising is handled by Rapala Freetime. I am rarely consulted as they have blanket permission.

You are probably right Wayne about the current situation, but I have faith that once sorted it will change, not so much against Mario, but against the crap that is obviously out there about me. I am not accusing Mario of causing the current missunderstanding, often this stuff is just assumption.

If the post gets deleted here I'll carry it over to my site.

Jay I was around 40 years ago.

Plastisol is a resin based material from Daystar. There were two grades: white stuff you set at loewer temp than the mold stuff that was brown that set at a much higher temperature.

I couldn't get silicone molds to work as I didn't have and didn't want to use a vaccuum chamber as they were too noisy to use in my unit. The neighbours also didn't find the plastisol fumes too frangrant.

I didn't use a vacuum chamber until I moved to Queensland.

The Plastisol was resuseable, great stuff, just remelt and go again. Problem it was highly toxic and you get very ill, very quickly.

vaccuum chambers aren't noisy @ all they're exactly that a chamber
vaccuum pumps aren't noisy either, very quiet in fact & you only need them on for 10 minutes.
If pumps are to expensive for one to buy sucktion line from an old refrigeration motor does the same thing.
And those aren't noisy either.

I had no probs using silicon moulds still use them

Jay I'm 58 now, started making lures when I was about 14 to 16, not very good ones, that took a while, but the first witchdoctor was around that time. Most fanatical fishermen try making lures, rods, rigs.

Re: Vacuum Chamber, shame you weren't around when I needed the info.

Well..., I've read the entire thread and I must admit, a great mini series could be extracted from this saga!
Though I totally agree with Peter.., that confusion over who's lures belong to Pakula or Zac's is evident quite often.., just take a look at the 2011 Melton Tackle catalog, Zacatak lures advertised with Pakula heads on them.
I'd be pissed too!!! unhappy-fish.gif

Even if reelmaid was wrong, he was condused. Changs he didn't say on line. I have copies of that catalogue should you wish to see them, indeed, Pakula Lures inserts with Pakula on them, called Zacatak lures. I guess it's about time you should find out why Changa, who thinks I'm wrong to use a trade mark that I own, but it's OK for his little buddy to use lots that he doesn't own in a decptive manner.

It's pretty obvious now Changa that you simply don't have the facts, so after a cuppa I'll put the Chronolgy starting from before I bought the business back to the start of the court case. All sworn on oath to be true with evidence in the Supreme court. All available on request from the court. It's not secret stuff, it's available for all who wish to see it.
