My Epirb is not registered

They are pretty stupid with some of requirements like listing your mobile no with registration
10 miles out ph reception is lost so how are they supposed to contact you
By the time they even try that is time lost in despatching help
When activated Epirp will give off signal & they should be working on that signal not doing a ling ling around pussyfooting
Anybody who actually understands how the overall system works would not make such ridiculous and inept comments with such a pathetic attitude. But appears to be par for the course by some!
Some obviously find it funny that their stupidity could be risking the lives of those that job it is to help idiots like this.
Epirbs are registered as it helps reduce false alarms and saves undue expense, time, effort and risk. Hence the essential requirement to list your own mobile no with registration as the very first thing to eliminate is a false alert and/or followed up by confirmation from the additional contacts. This is not pussy footing around as some ignorantly refer to it as. No rescue crew appreciates wasting time because somebody doesn’t have enough intelligence to understand some very simple and important requirements with Epirb registration and understanding how it all works.
Same with VHF, inept people will continue to make pathetic excuses they can't justify. _________________ ** Tomorrow is another day .... oh joy .... what great responses will that bring **

Went into my local marine rescue office recently to register my boat and get a call sign.. Cost me $30 (donation) and means i can eaily log on and off by a simple call instead of leaving all the details, via 27 or VHF..
While there I asked about getting my VHF license as I have the radio but no license..
Was basically told not to worry about the license, its a controversial topic and there is talk of the license being abolished completely in the near future for rec users..
Im happy with that! They are the ones that will be answering the call for help so If that's their recommendation ill run with that,

Some obviously have backward approach to logic then! There's no logic in that, that's nothing more than the same old self opinionated rubbish.
Call signs are covered under the class license at not cost, and I quote
"Under class licensing arrangements call signs are not issued to individual users. Operators should use any relevant call signs associated with the vessel or use other appropriate means of identification when transmitting."
Local marine rescue might be the ones answering some calls (in some cases) but they have absolutely no authority to make such comment, none what so ever and they should know better than that to comment on something they obviously know little about or have any control over what so ever.
If and when any changes are made then so be it but until that time they need to confine their opinions to themselves as comments like that highlight their incompetence. Until any such changes are made then people need to learn to live with reality not some BS spread by ill informed volunteers. _________________ ** Tomorrow is another day .... oh joy .... what great responses will that bring **
