I know the feeling of fishing in between hundreds of rods and the old boys you speak of with all those poles, I can offer a bit of a solution, go and get yourself a 7m pole, take it down, and ask them to show you how to use it. Find out what jigs and line their using and have a chat.

I usually fish at portsea (when I have the time) and when I first went, I had a chat with a couple of the old boys down there, they pointed out the spots where they usually catch squid and whiting (not to hard to figure out though, given that their always there in those spots) watch them, learn, improve on it, and them show them (if their european, they wont listen, but anyway) and make some friends.

it's going to take some time to get to know them (assuming their alive long enough) but you may find that when your all friends and go down their you'll be welcome to fish in between their hundreds of poles. It's been 6-7yrs since I started fishing at portsea, and have only been there five or so in the last 2 yrs, I know a few of the old boys I first met have passed.

And as far as them not being able to eat all that squid... my in laws are italian, have a beach house in Rye, there are always people over at the house... non stop.... and constant food... and drink.. all those squid, would last a day at most. Get to know them and they'll probably invite you around to play cards with the other old boys... laughing-fish.gif

Domenic whoever you are come fish my way and keep opening your mouth the way you are you will quickly find a foot in it you tosse. So according to you pensioners are all selling squid illegally including my 80 y.o. old man who still fishes a pier when his legs let him cos he cannot get on to a boat, oh and fisheries officers are corrupt, seems to me you cant catch shit and making excuses you moron, mods can toss me off this site, if I was one of the guys you've bagged Id hunt you down. Go find another longer pier and take a walk off the end of it maybe one up this way. By the way if you wanna post on sites maybe brush ona de english cos i had to read some of your tripe three times to decipher it but looking at how stupid you look on your pic it is not a wonder.
