Nathan what do you mean by our way and the minority? Australia live in a multicultural society. I havent seen a law that stops this. Minority? white cultureless dollar loving and wasteful anglosaxons are the minority in my opinion. Whether something is halal, kosher or whatever makes no difference to the food for you. It makes a difference to them and their very rich culture that they have treasured for thousands of years. The only thing you treasure as an Anglosaxon is your self loving self and the next dollar to go into your account. UnAustralian cultural practices? without these cultures you wouldnt have the shirt on your back or the bread that you toast in the morning for your dry Austarlian breakfast. You would have nothing to boast about

It absolutely makes a difference to me how meat is killed in Australia that I'm expected to consume, all in order to please minorities...
And I'm unsure what your definition of a minority is... This is AUSTRALIA - YES, it's multicultural, but these groups within our society should not make us feel guilty about OUR culture...

Nathan, where I come from if you wanted to be heard and respected you had to be cultured and fluent in at least 4 different cultures. Including the gentlemanly English. There was a post, just recently in the gamefishing section, from a very senior and experienced angler that blames C&R for the demise of game fishing in a number of areas.

In case you are wondering, I fish to the law and kill everything and eat it.
I cant see how releasing healthy fish should be banned.
I also think from what I have seen releasing fish is on the increase.
There is no doubt in certain circumstances that releasing fish they will not live but there are many many circumstances where the fish will live uneffected.
I release undersize fish and very large fish but again it depens on the circumstances.
For example we were fishing in 120-150m and every fish we pulled up was in bad health, swim bladder burst some where dead or almost dead when we got them in the boat. Every fish was kept and consumed.
Alternatively we were fishing in 3-5m for flatties and released half the fish we caught which was no problem and the fish were perfectly healthy.
