Can a outboard be converted from a 20inch short shaft to a 25inch long shaft. Motor is a 115 yamaha four stroke. |

| usually yes, but the cost can be a killer, especially on a new motor where second hand parts might be hard to find, try your yamaha dealer and see if they make a conversion kit. |

Can be driveshaft needs to be cut & extended so you'll need a 2nd shaft
Then all the other spacer parts
Alot more cost efficient pricing a 2nd hand box _________________ **************************

there is a Genuine Yamaha kit available depending on your year model.
& hope you are refering to long shaft to XL shaft...not what the thread heading states.
it comes with a new drive shaft , a new shift shaft , water tube extension , the midsection housing extension & all necessary bolts to refit lower unit... like Noel mentioned they are a tad exxy . but still not as exxy as changing your outboard unit in its entirety.
second hand Yamaha parts of this nature are extreamly hard to find , you will find a driveshaft , but good luck finding the rest of required components.
there are also several aftermarket kits available in U.S to broaden your choices.
& at a fraction of the cost of a genuine kit. _________________ If you don't have time to do it right, will you have time to do it again ???
