My missus suffers from Rheumatoid arthritis, so does her mother. Its a prick of a thing. Its slowed her down heaps. Cause she cant get around as much she's slowly stacked on the weight and the more weight the worse it gets and slows her down even more. I have tried to convince her to take fish oil in large doses but she isnt interested.
I suffer from gout, never been to the docs about it but I reckon thats what it is. If I drink a heap of beer I cant walk the next day (well few days), its a pain like I have never felt before!
I rarely drink beer these days I do ok with bourbon but I get sick of it after a while.
I went swimming in the campaspe not realising it had blue green algae in it. Ever since I have suffered with skin allergies. At first I was allergic to the cold. A cold breeze would see me break out in hives. That seems to have gone away, more recently I have been breaking out in these huge itchy bumps (like mega hives). The quack said its an allergic reaction but unlikely I will find out what its from. I was living on strong hay fever tablets and prednisalone (sp). It seems to have died down for now, to the point that I arent taking anything, but who knows if it will kick off again.
pretty good for a young but getting old 30yr old.. Most of my injury's are self inflicted thanks to the bundy factory and the 100 odd workers that my drinking habbit employs.. JG often tells me how bad the stuff is for me as he lights up another smoke..
Do need to get fit though!! And had a scare recently where i lost sight out of one of my eyes and ill tell ya it scarred the Shi+ outta me... Luckily it wasnt my shooting eye!! Had never heard of it before but its called "central serous chorioretinopathy"... Hopefully will clear up after a few months and should get most of my vision back..
This is not a competition as to who is sicker than the other. Hopefully we might find something that can help us or someone we know get through the day a little better.
Frank (Nimrod) I love your attitude. Great stuff…..that almost comes across as condescending but it isn’t meant to be. You can tell when you type/post/say things on here that you have a great spirit/passion. As you would already be aware the outcome’s for prostate cancer has improved incredibly in the past decade….I do hope they find your lung. Bloody Doc's
Please keep us in touch with your progress. Good luck mate
Murrayman2 as you could imagine I’ve tried lots & lots of alternative stuff…..but I have not tried cherries. My wife has just printed off 10 pages on the benefits of eating cherries. I will give it ago in two weeks.
Bearzzy I think we all agree on the fact that Hospitals are a sick place to spend a weekend……
The Bream. I created a place in cyber space, a post called ‘What do you suffer from? So that you can ‘whinge’.
A Doctor/Professor from the UK a leading expert in R/A made a comment to me about Aussie men.
‘You Aussie blokes are all on your own. There’s always someone sicker. There’s always someone in more pain, until your last breath there’s always someone worst off………He then got in my face up really close and whispered ‘and then you’re dead’
JayyyyGee without me having to look back at past post…..you’ve got a serious illness. If you care to reply what is it?
Koorilad thanks for posting. Give ya mother in law a kiss. I know what the women feels. I get gout as well. It is the only pain that feels like Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Blue green algae. I’ve learnt more about it tonight then I knew yesterday. Did you put weight on while using prednisolone? Do you remember how many grams per pill? I put on 30kilos in 6 months at 50 grams per tablet.
Again thanks for all that have contributed. It's not easy talking about the untalkable

LOL this thread sounds like the scene from JAWS where they are comparing scars in the boat!
Ok My Turn
at 34 I was taken to hospital with severe gut pains, that night they pulled my appendix out, CUT 1
4 weeks later I'm back in with the same pain, nothing wrong with my appendix in the first place, 2 weeks on a drip only, no conclusion of whats wrong. 9 months later and after another 4 attacks a professor in Concord found the problem. Diavaticular disease with a ruptured bow.
Removal of large bow and an illostomy (Bag) CUT 2
6 months later reversal of bag CUT 3.
1 year later hernia repair of CUT 3 split open, CUT 4
8 months on Hernia repair fails becomes larger and second attempt CUT5
6 months after fails again but now to large to repair! Live with it.
Diagnosed with Severe Sleep apnea, but due to the amount of incisions and cuts through abb mussels can not tolerate treatment, nothing can be done, so live with it!
That was a few moons ago now, and I still manage to work at least 6 days a week, mind you I don't have the stamina I had before all this.
Nothing like good health, pity I copped this, just hope nothing else comes knocking. _________________ Cheers

Since my earliest memories in Australia I have suffered chronic debilitating hayfever. 4-5 months of the year and 3-4 days a week I cannot function in any way because of it so stay in bed in a cool dark room in serious pain. Cannot keep any normal job other than working my own flexible hours around the hayfever, by sub contracting as a plasterer but dreamed to be a Mechanical Engineer. When you tell a doc about how bad it is they assume your full of shit and just keep prescribing antihistamines and even tried a series of steroid injections that caused excrutiating burning pain in joints so had to give that up. Recently I have tried a friend who is a doctor from Russia and now works here as a doctor. He now gets hayfever since moving to Australia too. He went through my medical history as best as he could and found a nasal spray that has never been prescribed to me before in 39 years and it has virtually eliminated all the hayfever now. It is expensive but has saved my life so well worth it. If anyone is interested in what its called just PM me.. Other than that, Ive had pancreatitus three times with no known obvious causes but have been told not to drink any alcohol at all or eat spicy foods. Never was much of a drinker anyway. In a hospital bed up to 5 days at a time with so many needles stuck in me that I end up feeling like a sieve, I suspect the cause of it is one of the many stomach knocks I got as an over adventureous thrillseeker kid that I was too scared/silly not to tell anyone about at the time. _________________ I am an idiot and a liar.
