Well on Monday night i had the dreaded experience , got home from work and the wife ordered me to go fishing and catch dinner for tomorrow , as a good husband would i didnt argue with the boss i just went fishing ..
Plan was get about 4-6 squid for entree , then hit the Pinkie snapper off Ricketts Point [ Beaumaris area ] - they were red hot the pinkies - had to get the soft plastics past the mini pinkies then a few size pinkie starting to get caught ....
Was a awesome night on the water - hot , in shorts , after work just dam right enjoyable - it' s great when the wife sends you fishing .
As always took out the camera and here's the highlights of a great night getting a feed for the family .

I'll give you the area but as you would appreciate with Jewies can't say too much-- launched at Corinella Western Port - fished Mosquito Channel - Barge end
Good luck and yeah Nitro's are a great rod |

No need for detailed info. Beautiful fish. Even better in local waters. I am sure it was the product of many trips out for em, rarely do they come by accident.
Not bragging but have a look at the one I caught on the beach on my profile pic. As my uncle Bruce says.............they are "special" _________________ Cheers

Troy,
I reckon it's hard to beat short sharp session like the one you had. Especially when you are confident that you will bag a feed. Also like the idea of fishing sundown, as it only gets better as the sun dips (most of the time).
I normally fish reef around willi. Same tactics.
Just regarding the squid though, is the ricketts area in general good for squiding or should you look out for depths or visuals on the bottom?
Cheers, Mick. |
