all this talk about Navara problems i just cant bring myself to spending my hard earned and not be able to use the car. A nissan mechanic told me on the weekend if you cant afford to buy 2 navaras then buy something else cos you will need the second one while the first is in for warranty work he also said if you still want a Navara make sure you buy one made in Tailand not a Spanish build.
another thing navaras need to be serviced every 10000ks or 6 months. every 4th service is a major service it averages at $992.00 per year or
$496.00 / service
I drove the new ranger 3.2TD $h!ts all over the Navara and more features including towbar as standard and the service intervals 15000ks or 12 months average cost $494.00 / year 1/2 the cost of Navara suddenly the ranger is not so expensive
Looks like i have made up my mind Just need to wait for delivery up to 3 months

Lets know how you go with the Ranger purchase.

The Ranger seem to be ticking a lot of boxes.

Just a little tip for you Navara owners who change your own oil.
Don't open the driver's door while draining the engine oil.
It triggers the oil level check feature & activates the warning light on the dash. Not a serious issue & goes away after you've opened & closed the door a few times after filling with oil, but gives you a bit of a worry if you don't know about it.
I didn't get caught, but my neighbour did and went into a bit of a panic until I told him about it. happy-fish.gif

One awesome car. great drive on highway and effortless offroad.

Did you get an auto or manua?, I would also been keen to know what sort of fuel figures you get once she is run in.

I have the manual... am 100% glad I do. Didnt like the auto at all.
Just used my first tank and managed 800 kms, filled up with 8 ltrs still in it. well according to the bowser anyway.
Have been putting some kms on it last couple of days, I can not fault it at all yet.

Think you will be happy with your purchase. The new bigger Ranger looks great. Don't see many Mazda equivalents on the road yet. There is certainly an increasing market for big tow vehicles. Enjoy that new car smell! No eating in the car, for the first week. laughing-fish.gif

I owned a NissanD40 navara worst flamin vehicle I ever came across for reliability had issues with just about everything between the front and rear bumpers, after three years of unreliable ownership, I started looking for a replacement saw the D Max Isuzu was very impressed and when a friend told me he was purchasing a runout Colorado because it is virtually an Isuzu only a heap cheaper I settled on a Colorado as well it has no problem moving my boat almost two ton and carys extra gear in the back as well, it is the three Litre diesel auto 4x4and it really is a beaute little TRUCK. Cost was $33487 on road drive away.
