So I drive into town the whole time thinking geeze that’s unlike him, I wonder what’s gone down?
Sitting at the reception area the principle comes out & advises me that my son will be over in a minute. Patiently waiting a feral bush pig- drug selling- dole bludging- ex con with stars tattooed over his forehead comes into the waiting area. He says to me’ *ucking schools, *ucking kids, I’m going to bitch slap the principle with by pimp hand’ & he laughs loudly.
I give him a look and grunt ‘yeah’
The principle comes out with my 14yr old and the other kid. The other kid looks feral, probably this tools kid, I say to myself.
The principle announces to us all that feral- bush- pig kid with ex con father; that the kid has been bullying my son. Principle then says that he’s decided to send both parties home for the day.
I feel the temperature gauge rising and I say ‘so your sending Pat home because he’s been bullied?, that doesn’t make any sense’.
Principle looks at Ex con drug- bag then turns to me and says ‘Please Mr Maggoo there’s no discussion on the matter’
Walking out of the reception area I here ex con- drug dealer- car thief- granny basher say to his sprog ‘fair enough mate he looks like a pussy’…………Enough said on bad parenting.

Hey Peter, some of the kids I work with have been extremely traumatized and abused it causes a huge range of psychological disorders, throw in a few personality disorders and an intellectual disability and you quickly realize that if this person had a baby it would taken from them at birth. That would be traumatic for the individual and the baby would have a dysfunctional traumatic life and the cycle would continue. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.
The issues with this policy is that overtime it would be abused and implemented with disasterous consequences. It's the kind of thing hitler would like. For this reason It's not a road that we should go down. _________________ http://swandvsfguiding.com/index.html

Koorilad I respect your right to an opinion. So considering this was the type of rationale and thinking behind the stolen generation of indigenous kids back in decades past, I presume you see that was a good policy?
Iron maiden I also respect you have your opinion, but I could never agree with the removal of a basic human right - ie to have children - especially when it could only be determined by the State, or some part of the State.
Yes, people might be absolute losers of the worst type, they might bludge off society, but thats life. They are probably destined to have kids that are losers too. But none of that gives you or me the right to determine what they can and cannot do with their lives.
I'd make one exception to the above, and that is pedophiles and child killers/abusers would at a minimum be sterilised, to protect potential kids from future crimes by them. _________________
Koorilad and peter35. We are all of the same thinking. Although I would love to see sterilization of half the community it is in tongue and cheek. I totally agree that this sort of thing would not work. It’s been proven not to work. My opinion was fuelled by anger & frustration.
Peter35 I worked with B.I.S.T for a number of years Behaviour Intervention specialist team. At one stage I was in charge of a client who was ranked 5 As Australia’s worst paedophiles. At the time I was working with him he was young and extremely fit. At this time he was deemed extremely dangerous to the community. Anyways my opinion changed from our first meeting to when I left him.
Even these people have the same rights as we do.
As good threads often do the original post has evolved somewhat.

Peter I was talking about some people not some races. I also agree with you that its not a good idea to implement this type of policy. I firmly believe that in isolated cases sterilisation should be considered an option. BUT, I firmly believe that its not a path society should go down for other reasons.
Pedo's arent that cut and dry. You cant sterilise them and think that nothing will go on from there. One of my old bosses worked with a guy that had his knob cut off/mutilated in a revenge attack for his crimes. He continued to offend he just used other implements.

Nah mate. I'm at home doing what I do. You mate; you are in the front lines. You have your finger on the pulse of society’s hard nuts. It's me giving you the thumbs up mate. Things change so quickly Kel. Policies, procedures, behaviour intervention is still like many other facets of social working...A work in progress; always evolving.
