I weren't blaming the media, I was giving an example of why the investigation should happen quickly.
But you missed it
I have spent the whole thread saying their should be consequences for the kids, but it should go further. The people that made them the way they are should be held accountable as well.
You can tell people anything you like it's a free country but dosen't mean you're right & by the way i didn't miss a thing.
Didn't really want to enter the thread cause it gets me cranky watching what the youth of today get u to & get away with
Bring back the cane in schools may very well teach them a little about respect
Trouble kids these days know they can get away with virtually anything & they push it to the limits _________________ **************************

Try and keep up
Kelvin, i hold you in high esteem for the work you do. From my experience it takes a special type of person to do it. I don't always agree with your point of view though, probably more often disagree actually.
How do you determine who made the kids the way they are? So if i commit a crime, are you saying my parents should be held accountable.
I think "bad kids" do come from "good" families as well. Some parents just don't know how to say no to their kids, have blinkers and think "little Johnny" is a perfect little boy. Then little Johnny grows up, does Crime and its everyone elses fault. Unfortunatly some people breed narcisistic kids who dont give a rats about anyone else.
Kel i just find alot of the comments you've made are the type one would expect to come out the mouth of a lawyer trying to get the client of the hook, blaming everybody except for the guilty party in a bid to gain leniency & symparthy.
Tell me how would you explain 2 kids coming from same family same enviroment one turns out an angel & the other a life of crime _________________ **************************

I'm no Kel but I've done a wittle work in the field so I'm not just shooting off about crap that I have no idea about...
FACT. Behaviour programs which are policed as policies for schools have been written with one foot imbedded in common law & the other foot entrenched in DHS (Dept of Human services).
In the public sector kids from primary to secondary are wrapped up in cotton wool & the teachers-principals can’t do a dam thing.
Don’t get stuck on good parent bad parent. It is the individual who breaks the law (Not their family) & it is the individual who faces the consequences of their actions.
Koorilad & I are talking from a social worker’s mindset. Not a copper, not a judge, not a lawyer. It is what we see at ground level that motivates our opinions.
That 90% of the so called rat bags come from dysfunctional homes. The 10 % of kids that come from very stable homes that goes off the rails, do so for a multitude of reasons. Thats 90% rat bags -10% of so called 'Good kids & their families'.
As I mentioned that I came from a ‘Good’ family. But at 14 I didn’t think so. I stole my uncle’s car as I mentioned. I took it rally driving then washed it put it back in the drive way, he didn’t notice. So I did it again this time I drove it to Melbourne, fuelled it up, back in drive, all good.
Now what would have happened if I smashed & killed someone? I was 14 invincible; immortal even & did not give a crap about you so called ADULTS in fact back then *UCK YOU & ya dog, sideways lol
Kel is providing his opinion on what he does for a living. He has to work within many governing programs and a mountain of policies.
I'm saying that out of say the 100 kids he has worked with in the past 2 years that 90 of them come from CRAP, families!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As for punishments (law enforced as well as DHS compliance) yeah bloody oath kids today know that they are protected (to a point) by the laws around them.
I hope this makes sense.
We can’t turn back time. No straps, no canes. Parents can't hit their kids, especially in public. Even in the sanctuary of their own home, a kid can seek legal aid for being physically abused as well as emotionally. _________________ Life is like a fish milkshake
Alot can be said in relation to topic but ulternately it all falls down to choice & one making ones own decisions in life.
What i have a problem with is the rest of the people who do the right thing have to be continually paying for the actions of a few who dont do the right thing they go unpunished & when that happens they'll repeat offend _________________ **************************

Too right Jay. I am thinking "repeat offenders" are just that as there are no consequences. At the same time, i never had the mentality to steal or commit crime through my life...why....because it was wrong, would make someone else feel bad, sad, hurt or whatever. So i gave a Sh#t about other people. Why then should i give a Sh#t about those who repeat offend. My Ol' Man (bless his soul) said we should dump certain people in the middle of Australia with no water and leave them there. Radical to some but i get it,
Well... while visiting the "alleged" offenders in hospital... their friends ran amok, dewstroying, vandalizing, and generally making fools of themselves.
More choices. _________________ How's the serenity....
