Mexican Heads North
Based in Melbourne - Heading to Ipswich in Queensland - September 2012.
Looking for some sound local advice regarding:-
Impounds within 250k /300k Radius of Ipswich which have:-
Caravan / Cabin / Boat Hire / Bait / General Store etc
Targeted species - Bass / Yellowbelly
Method - Bait / Lures - Rapala / Tassie Devils / JD Lip Rippers and Suspended Minnows.
Suggestions welcome re other worthwhile lures
Basic Trout gear to be used
Duration of stay - Minimum 1 week
Have read with interest reports in this forum re bass and Yellowbelly catches at various locations
Any sensible responce appreciated

Thanks for responce - Lots of info - too much to digest in one reading.
Disappointed to see shortage of overnight stay facilities, and areas being "locked down" overnight.
Are most of the areas that are "locked down" overnight controlled by local / state goverment agencies?
Certainly is one way of detering interstate fishermen.
I travel 800+kilometers every year to fish Lake Eucumbenr in Snowy Mountains for a minimum of one week - Camping / Fishing access available 24/7 and we certainly add to local economy.
May need to reconsider trip north - shall keep looking.
