Simple , because if you Don't ,you will end up with nothing !!!!!
The Rape and Pillage has to Cease !!!!
It's not that "simple"......... What is simple is that we as recreational fishermen can simply say no and fight to protect our right to fish.
Take the emotive words of rape and pillage and the like out of it and it is really quiet simple....who as fisherman want to retain their current right to fish and who don't?
Well you you can say NO all you like , there are more than enough pics / vids around to support what is taking place , "Rape and Pillage" , many are so Greedy ,their only priority appears to be, is filling those freezers to the max , they simply ,cannot show any self control , thats why you get change
Well Steve, perhaps you would be kind enough to show a vid or pic of someone, being a rec fisherman, "raping and pillaging" not showing any self control while fillin them freezers....
All your post show that you are quite the conservationist!
I have bitten my tongue so much here its bleeding lol
point 1
19700 fish were taken in victoria in the 2011 season and 6900 were T&R
that T&R was the only historical research done on SBTS in Victoria in 2011 and that research was at No charge to the govt
point 2
SBTs WERE at 1 stage endangerd due to commercial activities in a time when we knew no better >>> they are back from that brink by a long way (why else would there be scientific evidence stating that commercial fishing pressure can increase by 30% in the next 3 years
point 3
As a recreational fisher why should i be disadvantaged by past commercial and future commercial pressures when IT IS QUOTED 'Australias recreational fishing managment is world class and its bag limits and self regulation are equall to anywhere else in the world
Sheesh next thing you know someone will say we need sanctuaries to keep whales safe from fishermen because its fishermens fault they cant determine the beach from the sea at times but will be able to know where the santuary boundaries are
I am sick of the ill informed tree hugging minority making opinions and decisions for the majority
just remember the murray cod is more threatened than SBTs or should we fail to bring that up with our Canberra members who are great at ridicule but very light on solutions _________________ DONT BLAME ME I VOTED LIBERAL
Who cares!! just ignore those ridiculous regulations - be guided by your own moral / social responsibility it is a much better guage of right and wrong.
Do you think they (big brother = Aus Government) will actually be able to regulate stupid regulation it not worth getting your blood pressure up.

When 200 boats are fishing out of Portland on a Saturday morning it would be fair to assume that they wouldn't be fishin for mullet
It wouldn't be too hard to Police.
It is actually time to let the blood pressure get up a bit and simply say NO!
