as a friend of terry's it'd be good if you commented on things you actually knew a little about seacarp. It's pretty easy to fling crap via the net, if you've got a question for Terry I'm sure you could ask him at the Pub at Bermi anytime.
I've fished with Terry a long time ago and more recently, and now I've got a 6 month old daughter and I wouldn't hesitate to take her out with him too. If his PR bloke needs a hand he can let me know.

Well said Daniel and to hear that Terry watched and enjoyed that footage made my day!!! The PR talk from the other poster is laughable. Can you please tell Terry that I'd happily give my left testicle to spend a day fishing with him! |

He plucked em outta the water at Seal Rocks
after a capsize and then towed there boat back to shore
I'd get in the trenches with him no probs

I remember hearing stories about Terry when I was just starting out fishing Bermi in the late 80's Frank.
Great stuff, very inspirational to a group of young blokes as we were back then.
Cheers

Yeah Joe Terry was stoked with it and thanks you very much. Anyone who has any memories like this that they'd like to share please do so it's awesome to travel back in time and smile about the days when men were men and would tell you somthing to your face rather than from a keyboard.
Terry is an absolute legend and if any of you guys bump into a bloke who is the spitting image of Jesus at the Bermi pub say G'day you'll learn a thing or two.

| Great footage, if any one has any footage of the boats etc at the bermi ramp from those good old days would love to see, ie; the formula "lisa" 25 bertie "swell as well" etc would love to see. |
Hey Bermibandit, I can't risist - I'll take the bait! I wish I had video of "Lisa”. What a glorious looking blue 233 and cricky she had some HP and was fast! Her crew were (and still are) gun blokes and fishos who also weighed in a monster blue (279kg – 1kg shy) only 1 year after Paul’s in that video.

Rodfather, I don’t suppose you recognise these boats do ya?
It’s not a pic I took. Pulled it off Going for Gold. Only saw a couple of the parades, they were a great spectacle. Hopefully the Statute of Limitations will save the owners of these boats being pinged for recklessly riding in them whilst being towed in the main street and for the 2nd one unnecessarily letting a flare off. |

I have a picture of 'lisa' from a few years back when it was up for sale, looks like she has had a refurbish since the old bermi days but hasnt changed much. I have a picture here but am unable to put up.
Saw the old "swell as well' many years ago for sale in geelong, had all the gamefishing clubs stickers on the side and sold with all the gamefishing tackle etc as a combined package.
One of my all time favourites was "Iguana" the haines 773l possibly the ultimate trailerboat for its time, it was later called hoodlum, have pictures of it from the old magazines but still would like to see video footage of these awesome machines.
Nothing beats these old boats especially when they were on parade back in the good old days. |

hahaha I might recognise that old pig of a thing mate. It was rare that it got towed by a Bronco though even in the days when every second car in the main street was a bronco.
It could have been when the old landy, the "kanoa towa" followed the trailer into the water...............
Speaking of Iguana some pics of Lisa went up on FB posted by the old owners son earlier tonight. Something tells me he's watching this thread and getting nostalgic. Small world, this young man is putting out an excellent free publication in Victoria these days, "hooked up" it's a very small world gents! |

yes its real easy to fling crap and im an expert at it the only reason i dont jump right into this one is out of respect to the peoples families that lost their lives at sea and their siblings that forever miss their loved ones
short lesson here dont rap a bloke unless ya know all the sories and i was aroundfishoing bermaguie as a teen angler in the late eighties as well my matey but i had different people to look up too each too their own |

this isn't a pissing contest about who's friends with who. Terry isn't someone I look up to, he's someone I'm very happy to call a friend.
My point is if you have something to say maybe you could show him the courtesy of saying it to him rather than making sly comments on the internet where you can be sure he'll never see them.
It's always easy to tell a story when only one side gets told. |
