I have been using wind on wire traces the past few seasons they are great you can wind the fish in to the side of the boat
I get mine from eac tackle these guys are hardcore land based fishermen and pay attention to detail so you can have confindince in there products

wind on wire? not sure what that would do to your mono when on the reel?
depends on what size sharks you are chasing. all the fun is when the wireman has the leader laughing-fish.gif

You thinking of Greg Barea?? not 100% sure about wind on wire though, but to answer the question, don't really think the colour of the trace will make a huge difference.

Greg dose show a wind-on in one of his dvd's.

Personally i wouldnt use them when chasing makos,

Winding the wire onto the reel is only going to damage the mono when ithe wire bites into it. you will never get enough pressure on the wire from the reel and rod to hold a solid fish and it would be hard to wind up 30ft of trace onto your reel....

Greg does do them goodger wind on leaders make them for him and sells them. They don't damage the line when wound onto the reel and although I wouldn't use them on a big shark Greg has. We sometimes use one if we have a small shark swim to the boat that we are just going to tag.

I'm with Nick, eactackle make some great leaders. Ted and Ben are great blokes and their attention to detail is amazing with everything they do.
Cheers Frank
