fly fishing/brim

howdy guys
i have just bought a new fly fishing rod and its my first time. i have been looking for site regarding fly fishing for brim and cant find anything. i currently live on (south aus) west lakes(full of brim)(saltwater). can you guys give me some tips on what time i should be fishing at and is there ne techniques for it, is it just simple cast out sit and wait or what. currently i have number six line or w/e and have bout 20 diff flys all diff colors and for saltwater brim

I like small flies, including bms -saltwater and hammerheads, crazy charlies and dark flies.
I find tides aren't always important, but I like to fish the rising tide.

If you are just starting out bream will be a challenge.
Go for flat head. :shallow water (high tide covered banks)float line 1.5-2.0m leader.
Flatties are the dead set easiest fish to catch....clouser .....let it sink ....long strip....let it sink. cast to the left...cast to the right ....and cast every where you think you will walk.,..often you wil get one within 20m.... tread lightly to not spook you can get one within 2m.
Bream are not so easy. But keep at it ....... when that first bream hits
