Because it doesnt sink too wekk, i've found that theyre best used on a sinking style line.......sink tip/intermediate/full sink...etc.
Anywhere you'd cast for baitfish feeders, this simple imitator will work.
Tied inverted and fished along shallow channel edges, its a handy fly for flathead.
You can also slow troll them past a FAD or beacon for rat hings and Dolphinfish....if you dont mind "cheating". _________________ How's the serenity.... |

They would....but...there are better flies to get a cods attention.
Fat Alberts, or pink things which push more water and therefore make more vibration will get a cods attention much better. _________________ How's the serenity.... |

Caught a few Cod on deceivers mainly chartreuse and in shallow water. Use a fulll inter sink line and short leader (under 1.5 m). Tie mine weighted with lead wire. They work better with a rattle fitted along the shank, adds the wake up factor.
