The rally was well attended by estimates of approximatly 2000 people all united against Channel Deepening.

There were people from all bay user groups.

The Association of Bayside Municipalities used the media attention to launch their press release which gives a "No Confidence" in the Environment Management Plan after a peer review by Dr Graham Harris (Formally CSIRO scientist who led the last major investigation into PPB)

A great family day was had by all.

My congratulations go to all of the organisers who chose a great day, location and speakers. (I didn't have a hand in this one!)

See tomorrows papers for further details - particularly "The Age"

IT WAS the biggest public rally so far against the dredging operation in Port Phillip Bay, with about 1000 protesters chanting and urging a halt to the $1 billion project as they gathered near Rosebud Pier yesterday.

good rally except for the idiots going in side of the no go zone hope they throw the book at them
these people could have the port authorities expanding the no go zones to the maximum what happens then in some areas like Williamstown and the heads area there willbe no fishing at all while now we can fish while the dredge is in the area
