if youre up for a bit of a drive barwon river around barwon heads and ocean grove is great for a feed. you can get whiting, bream, salmon, mullet, trevally, callamri, flathead, elephant fish, eels, luderick, esturay perch and the occasinal mulloway. some fish are easier to catch than others but you can normaly rely on fish like the whiting.

Not much to report from me either. No LBG over recent weeks on account of the huge seas up and down the NSW coast.

Even so, the reds have been firing, and we found a few more on the weekend up to 5kg, and mostly in the middle of the day.

A good session off the rocks near Mackay. a nice spotty mackerel took my pillie, had a run around and landed it. Stuck a pillie on and got a guesstimated 12-15 lb golden trevallyand released it.

Cast out another pillie and hooked up to a bigger goldie, guesstimated at 17-20lbs, as I was fighting it, its mate followed and so did a big estuary cod...and the cod had a go at my trev...

Finally got the trev and released it to fight another day.

And the cod again, eyeing off a mackerel head.

Most people would jump up and down with a red like that from the rocks laughing-fish.gif
Nice fish there Pete and great Golden Rob.

I went up north for the long weekend but didn't turn a reel again, apart from loosing half a spool to a boat.
The storm must have been pretty awesome. I posted this pic up last week (from the ABC news)

and yesterday i went to the same spot and the angel ring was bent right over.

Hi All
Armed with my new toy, a Pentax K-X i made a detour to see if i get a mullet or small salmon to try the new camera. Greeted with a nice sunset i put a rod out and just enjoyed being out for an hour.
Looking forward to posting some better pics from now on laughing-fish.gif
Cheers Frank
