Barra on Fly

Hi all, Im from Cairns NQ and on a recent dawn trip to our local Inlet, I found a new Snag. It's one of those "GOT to be a FISH in there" Type Snags. I dont want you to think this happens all the time up here but I popped up the bow and stripped and blew a cast straight on top of a good size boil at the back of the snag and ripped my "Scorpion Snake Fly" for two strps mean while a very motivated 85cm Barra launch himself over some twiggy branches, with his back out of the water and engulfed the fly with a loud boof. He came fully air born at the same instant, then went out to the centre of the creek (lucky for me) not so lucky for Mr Barra as I was now "on the reel" and the battle was explosive and thrilling if not a little shortWell we both where because my greatest thril I was the eventually winner. Mr Barra and I are old friends so I thanked him for his efforts and sent him back to his snag to give someone else a "Fishing Moment". FlyFreak
