A few replies had come in from when to time of me doing last reply had to shoot off & fit a few new toys to the boat.
This for example

Yes sir ree.....You guys may have the 'maths' on this so here are the rough dims.....3000mm X 500mm X 300mm per sponson of dripping water logged "and I loosley call it 'bouyancy foam'" and I mean 'wet and goowy"
Haven't read/follow thread just have a looky from time to time so in the dark on what you've done, safe to assume you've cut out floor
That styrene is a plic of a stuff gets very water logged esp if they wrapped it glad bags like they did on my previous boat did have the floor out on boat in pic & replaced it along with other repairs.
When i built current boat wasn't going to just throw in the floatation b4 welding in the floor twas a plic of a job esp because of all the floor support angles could only make blocks a certain width else they wouldn't go in.
Once cut i matted/glassed every block to make them waterproof bitch of a job hate glassing
Flatbar was welded to each frame 60 + mm off the hull to support them once all in i urathaned them all together & to the frames so as they wouldn't move & chip the glass.
All done floor got welded in
Getting back to the pic of my old blue boat owned it 20 odd years & as far as i was concerned it had expired it's use by date did a rebuild few years earlier & cancer was starting to show again, was going cut it up for scrap metal when someone i knew rang me & wanted it.
Told him why i was getting rid of it he didn't care & i'm no idiot wasn't going to knock back the offer he made
He saw what was powering it told him to go 2 strokes cause of weight issues he didn't listen & went a single 150 hp Honda 4 banger.
Every time i saw him he'd rave on how good the boat was [goes to show what donkeys some people used to fish from]
Anyway got told he now has twins on the back & was in disbelief when told boat now had twin 150 hp Honda's did briefly speak to him on the ph & again all i heard was the rave about how good boat is with the twins.
He added another say 50 kg to what i had with the yams & he's he's trying to tell me porky's.
I prob clocked up around 10,000 hrs behind the wheel of that boat think i know it better than he does
Hey Steve,
Just saw your photos of FIRECAT in action.I tracked back my photos (pg 8 ) & yours is sitting 1&1/2 to 2 ripples lower than ours!
that extra water soaked foam mustve weighed a "ton" !!
Ours was the same as you mentioned...dry one trip,20 ltrs the next,5 lts next, dry after that???? WTF. ??? Tracked it down to rubbed thru gelcoat at rear skids.(now replaced with rollers)
now weve fixed that, regelled etc, etc, has been dry for 18 months now.(transom showed NO sign of rot when new motors drilled & bolted on).
Hi there Dean
I have been doing a little at a time, the trailer is now fully tandemised, painted and wired and ready for a trip to Vicroads when we return home from Lakes.
Whilst in Leongatha I will get her to the glasser for a quote to widen the sponson door to allow access for the wifes wheelchair and anchoring points.
Im undecided as to which seats and bases to use, whatever I use must be removable without to much hassle.
Im probably going to ditch the original bimini and opt for a heavier framed one that can accomadate clears.
Fitted the extreme drum winch, I was unhappy with the thought of trying to strengthen the back wall of the anchor locker with ply & glass so I have fitted full lenght 6mm stainless plates to the rear wall and floor and run to angle braces from one to the other so to spread the load over two surfaces.
All wiring an electronics (except the marine radio) are complete.
Motors will go for their first service over the winter period.
Baitboard still not constructed but design of it's frame work is finished.
I will have a few pics to post in the next week or so, as you can see I have quite a way to go before completed but she will well and truely be ready for the next season.

Stan
Great to hear that your 49er is still moving along.
Regards your Bimi.....The Bimi (frames/Rocket Launcher/Canopy) are yours if your interested.
Obviously they will only fit a 49er but they are standard fitting....they only things you would need to match up are the clears.
It has all the Bimi zips in place and was set up for a (3) panel front and removible sides.
Clears that go with it are a bit narrow for your boat as when I put the 'gerry built breaker' on I had them re-made. Side clears are larger than standard but might be possible to trim.
Go back a couple of posts and you will see whats what.
Think about it...they are there if you want.
Thats a very generous offer Steve but at this stage I will decline as Im wanting to go light gauge stainless if possible.
Thanks all the same

Yes please! I have same boat as yours and have been thinking about a ski pole (just for tubing). Have been looking for good ways to do it. Got some good info from another thread on the Quintrex removeable unit, very interested to see how you went about it with yours.
