the boys are doin a great job. I agree with the comments regarding the hardtop, its either gotta go back or the wavebreaker is gunna have to start its incline from closer to the bow or she will look like the front of a metro train

"Bullet-proof glass" all round I reckon.
Have been waiting and waiting for this.
I will convey your sentiments and recommendations to Rome.

Agreed...it's propped up for height and I'm hoping it will rake back a little more.
Adreane checks out the post so he will be prepared maybe when I venture down 'Friday..tomorrow'
Thanks Dean....The "care not what they say" attitude is welcome.
"Look this is the hard end of the project for sure".!
As a 'one off' it will always look different..an orphan..ugly duckling or a 'glass house for want of not upsetting our RC congregation in Rome of for that matter Altona maybe.
The fact is that if I had not raised levelled and over engineered the cabin floor by 100mm a couple of 'Gerry built's ago the Hard top would be lower.
Reasons behind the raising of the floor was that standing on a curved rising floor fatigued me. Tripping over the port and starboard foot wells injured me.
A price I will pay for with the resto but at least when the breeze is blowing I will be warm, when the rain is falling and the chop is throwing spray all over the shop I will be dry.
Ergonomically the internal set up will be for "ME"..Higher forward tilting Helm where standing will be a fatigue less operation...sitting will be more up-right allowing for greater 'muscle control' of back and arms when driving from a sitting attitude whist under way.
Instruments and electronics will be higher and placed at heights that aid and ease operation.
It's got to be said that at a standing position in an early Whaler the helm was a "bloody disgrace"....All bent over like the Hunch Back from Notre dame.
Motor controls will also be more 'parallel' with 'skeletal' movement avoiding the throttling up issues as the internal cab gunnel sweeps to the centre.
( One engine can be accidentally pushed to WOT by the fingers trying to push straight ahead while palm hangs back against the curve of the gunnel.)
Sort of 'dominate' posture ie; Right over left.
Tweaking the angles up front will make for discussion I'm sure and if it gets close to the 'original concept' ( go back quite a few pages for a re-fresher)I will be very happy.
A very cold day at Hastings but all is still "Moving along"
Engine well 'bay/canopy/floor/infill/roof' has be fabricated and 'under glassed'.
A bonus has been the birth of a rear shelf that might just be a great hidey hole for 'bailer and docking ropes' or a 'berley cage or two'
Engine well propped in place
Clear way all the way back to transom
Cut outs for 'Fuel filters' to protrude through Engine well shelf and not beyond shelf underside
(Fuel filter access is very easy being forward of rear vertical transom wall so as to be able to get at hoses and unscrew filters with ease. "Just sit on the floor sort of")
Under gunnel conduit/fuel line holes are cut through support 'knees' with a splash of 'flow coat' both sides.
(Conduits will full gunnel from front to rear supporting all cables/lines and wiring....."NO SAGGING")

How much does it weigh now?
I have No idea...still gotta be lighter than it was...will tare weigh the trailer soon and once the boat it self is done I will do a dry weight with out motors and add 270kg's for the pair plus 134 kg's of fuel..
I'm not doing a 'jelly bean in a jar' guess.
It won't be anywhere near a 18' Shark Cat..'narrower,lower in the gunnels'..less of just about every thing I suppose but what the heck it ain't a Shark Cat.
