Just on the sounder console I have a second 97c on order and the console will again be re-worked (haven't said that) again with a configuration of 97c---NAVMAN Tracker---97c
Port 97c will be 'primary sounder/passive GPS' (on call)
NAV Tracker --- 'fuel management/secondary GPS/VHF Radio DSE'.
Starboard 97c --- 'primary GPS/secondary sounder'
Both Humminbird 97c's have own through hull transducers.
All units will have 'live GPS antennas' and a spare Humminbird GPS antenna in emergency storage on the roof.
I will probably have to do away with my covers to fit all (3) across the console but that's what may have to be done or squeeze the NAV in between with it's original cover.
Minor shit in the end..
Re-worked the 'electronics console' today I said early this morning and the original head ..... that kept me awake was ill founded as it fell together after a while.
When first looked at space was too small across the width.
I was going to add about 15mm but cutting out the ends but this would require trimming the back again and stuff up the location on the dash.
So cut out the entire width and height of the 97 over the whole console.
Set up a sounder at the extreme starboard side and add a Navman and see what happens.
Space out the Navman so that extreme minimum between units allows access for installation/removal of C-map.
Set up sounder to extreme port side with Navman securely bolted in place.
Glass in the spacer infill's between the units and add a bit of glass and bog to the rear/inside and it's all done ready for a re coat of gel and glassing up to the dash.
The 'New' unit will just be a fit in the slot and plug in in.
Dash is now a one piece configuration with the doorway shaped and the central join all done.
Side extensions and skippers side angled thingy are in place as are power control and helm re-enforcing plates as well.
Cab side pockets linings are also glassed against the wall. (That glass up to the dash/cab wall I sure ain't attempting)
And for a bit of 'bright and shiny' the anchor well lid is 'glossed up'.

Well we won't see this configuration of the console
Been tossed over by a US merchant with dodgy advertising and 'floating' web sites.
Big ideas fall over some times so that's how it goes.
The whole Sounder set up revolves around Humminbird so may just have to source another model to suit my transducers.
Till then it's do a patch and fill of the console maybe until all is worked out'

Back on track again
"Sourced a 'New" unit so away we go again."
Was a downer for sure but this is the gear I'm after as I have a hefty stock of 'plug ins' to suit and although units are a rarity accessories are well stocked both here and abroad.
Just got to get that glass work done and a shiny paint job and re-enroll in a how to catch a fish clinic as by now my accreditation may have lapsed.
Transom/Engine well have had a flow coat spray with another coat to go.
Will leave 'engine well as an 'out of the gun' finish.
"I like it,it's less finishing off and it's an individual look."
Underside is getting closer and will get treatment 'colour wise' very soon.
Planing surfaces look great and line up pretty good.
Had a play with a couple of gauge configurations.
Considering the 'dogs breakfast clutter' I had before even this will need work closer to fit-up.
"Also my pain with the electronics has been averted with a 'new' 97c Humminbird on the way."
Had a weekend away at Welshpool so I dropped in on the way home today a was greeted by the sound of a sander buzzing away on the widow frames.
These have had a bit more fill added to blend into the walls (seems somebody was a bit over the top with the 'die grinder' a while ago.)
Coming along,won't be long.
I also did a stock take of what's in my store to be fitted up and cut the holes for (2)'ciggy sockets'.
Re-cut the binnacle mounting hole and located the steering box bracket.
"the old wheel does look rather tardy but 'effect' was all I was after.
This shot is the backed up timber for attaching 'wiring and bus bars'.
Steve how do the motors mount ?on pods ? or is there a pic back at the start of the thread somewhere? _________________ If it sounds too good to be true, its because
