Thanks for the tip Steve. The scuppers appear to have been replaced recently but we'll take another look at them.
Whilst we're sharing tips, check the o-rings on your fuel caps. We found one to be in very poor condition and will be replacing both. _________________
Another trip down Hastings today with things sailing along at a good pace with 'gunnels' basically finished pre-primer and cabin getting finalised for undercoating.
Dash will get it's coating very soon and maybe come Friday a covering of primer will grace the lot. Then it's what ever is next.
"getting closer by the day."
Its gettin to the business end of the season now
lookin forward to seeing her all done
u must be a keen as mustard to get it home and get stuck into fittin up all the bells and whistles _________________ If it sounds too good to be true, its because
IT IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.
Well another trip to Hastings and it's flying along with part undercoating and dash filled/undercoated and sanded ready for the final countdown.
Still a bit of work in progress with Ash busy with the finishing touches along the gunnels and as always the outside.
Underside seems ready and cabin exterior ain't that far away either.
Trailer has been summoned to be on site by Friday this week and I'm sure both will not recognise each other on initial meeting..Hoping it will be like a great family reunion when they meet.
Top coat will be 2 pack as I have mentioned before with flow coating being applied from the bottom rib and underneath sponsons giving a hard surface for both trailer wear a tear and when I leave or have it moored on the sand at Shallow inlet or where ever. (any scratches and I hope there's none will always show white)
Across the gunnels from front to back have matched up very very well and it would be hard pressed once it's painted out to see the extension.."There isn't an extension now at all....It's a dinkum 5.8 Whaler now".
Dash is all filled and once I get all the gear into it will close up a little.
Sounder console will go on shortly and all dash construction will be complete....some removal of surfaces will start at home as you do for fit up of switches, gauges, helm, controls and so on.
Transom looks fantastic with it's rather 'radical' 'No engine well' re-build and extra 'over sized bung holes' for bilge and fish box drainage.
More to come over the next few days.
Regards Steve.
As the next stage progresses in the 'never ending story' that shiny stuff has gone on today and to say I'm rather pleased is an understatement for sure.
Quite a few photos today and I make no apology for for the 'viral amount' as if was not for all the comments, PM's, questions and advice gracing this thread I'd have given up a while ago.
Paint is just paint but this is finally 'my paint'
Firstly setting up for painting and the 'first application'
