What are some good patterns for kings? Im taking surfcandys, some of my own baitfish patterns, deceivers and i might tie up some polar fibre minnows. Any other suggestions? cheers.

ALWAYS have a few Chartreuse Clousers on 1/0 hooks.

You can also tie these weightless, and simply slide a small popper head down the leader to stir the rats into striking.

size 1/0 flies seem to be most consistent - the jelly bean theory - but the trick with kings is to hook one, and this stirs the remainder of the school into striking another anglers offering.

Have you tried TOADS, the ones the use for tarpon, they hover and the marabou tail is really enticing. In smaller sizes ofcourse.
