Heard this in peak hour traffic on the way home tonight, and thought it must be getting a bit hot in Ray's kitchen.
Anyone else hear the program.
regards
Don.

G'day Don. Yes i heard the show while out for a walk. Rex replayed the comments in question, then gave his opinion to a letter regarding those comments. I personally didn't see a problem with what Rex said. He was having a go at netting. Did i miss something or misunderstand the complaint? Frank R. |

G'day Frank,
You have it right, thats what l heard too along with Ray's letter to Rex that Rex read out.
I doubt that Rex (who spoke as an angler) said anything more, than what most Port Phillip Bay and Westernport anglers have said about VRFish and Netting.
Do something!
regards
Don.

D'day Don,
Missed the show you're talking about, but did hear Rex last week talking about RP and Co.
Personally I reckon Rex has it down pretty pat about Ray, who in my opinion, only appears to be concerned with his own well being and not offending his paymasters.
If Ray does in fact take any action it only (in my humble opinion ) shows the real type of person he is, one who cannot stand up and defend himself, or be big enough to shrug of those type of comments and hit back and prove everyone wrong. Can't see it myself

I heard Rex's show tonight for the first time in many weeks.
Boy, did Rex give Ray Page a serve which he thoroughly deserved.
Page's letter that Rex read out indicates he is vrfishes greatest liability. Threatening legal action shows how thin skinned and weak he is.
When are the voting members of vrfish going to realise how dumb they are to keep Page on.
When I realise that we, Victoria's anglers, are paying to keep Page & his cronies in a job, I demand my money back.
Can someone tell me how we (non club anglers) can contact those vrfish members who are supposed to be representing us ?
I did contact Robert Pearce (vrfish board member) once and all I got back was an abusive email.

G'day Peter,
Anglers and netters shouldn’t be competing directly with each other.
Rex could be amoung the first one's to shake Ray's hand if he & VRFish got motivated, and achieved a outcome in this area for PPBay & WPort anglers.
jmho.
regards
Don.

Yep Don, no doubt that Rex has had a gutful of VRFish and Page. I can understand that sentiment as a license paying (fishing, boat)angler. I wrote to VrFish, addressed to Ray Page regarding the absence of VrFish at any of the meetings regarding the dredging of the channel, asking why the 'peak body' was not on the list af attendees at the meetings. A fair question I thought ...... still waiting for a reply (5 months).
No wonder Rex has had a gutful.

Don,
Rex is correct. He has my backing all the way along with the whole recreational fishing community that VRFISH have done jack shyte to help the fishery in the bay. The government probably pay Ray to shut up and keep quiet. If they really wanted to ban all netting in all bays and inlets in Victoria they would have done it a long time ago. what does it take? not much if you ask me. There is definately a hidden agenda and we don't know about it. Ray has been in there for a long time now and what has he done for us...nothing really..Time for a clean up i think.
Cheers,

This will give you an idea of where VRFish stands with us the folks they represent (Anglers) and the D.S.E.
Contact Address for VRFish
Level 3
250 Victoria Parade
East Melbourne
VIC 3002
and The Department of Sustainability & Environment.
240 - 250 Victoria Parade
East Melbourne
VIC 3002
I'd doubt they'd want to piss off the landlord.
How can they seriously be an independant representative body, when they co-habit with DSE?
I wonder how much pillow talk there is?
