Geoff Wilson was born in Geelong Victoria in 1943 and began fishing when he was just 6 years old. His main target species in those days was salmon trout, which were much more common in Corio Bay and around the Bellarine Peninsula than they are today.

In later years he successfully tackled many more aspects of fishing, including land-based game fishing, of which he was one of the pioneers. His interest in the sport flourished over the years and he has accumulated a vast reservoir of experience and knowledge in fishing the rivers, inlets, bays and beaches of the western coastal regions of Victoria.

To his credit are more than 70 feature articles published in magazines such as Modern Fishing and Fishing World.

Geoff is also the fishing writer for the Geelong Advertiser and is a regular contributor to Fishing News magazine and has written many fine books which have proven to be very popular reading with thousands of anglers all over Australia.

Of particular note is Geoff's excellent artistic flair for fishing illustrations featured in many magazines and of course his best selling 'Complete Book of Fishing Knots & Rigs'.

Geoff also makes regular appearances on 3AW's Rex Hunt's Fishing World radio programme & has also appeared in several television productions on fishing.
